Right Livelihood

History shows how we have made populations of animals collaspe and thus in turn reaped the side effects ourselves. The overfishing of sardines and anchovies, and the anchoveta in Peru are a few examples of this. We need to find work and lifestyles that are harmonious with nature and that can sustain us as well as the surroundings we inhabit. I know it is not easy and I have been fortunate enough to acheive this, but there is a way for everyone. Creativity and imagination and thirst and perserverence are the way to make it happen. The Ocean needs us all to be kind to it, to give it back the life that it once had. This image is of the logging ships at Little River California, where the mill is gone and instead a state park exists. i kayak with tourists through this point everyday and am amazed at all the life that remains and thrives. Save for the Sea otter, it is doing pretty well, and we need to keep it that way.....
